How to measure your foot at home
- Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor, against a wall.
- Stand on it with your heel touching the wall, wearing the kind of socks you would wear with the shoes (or barefoot for sandals).
- Mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper.
- Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres. Do both feet and use the longer measurement.
- Match your measurement to the chart below. Measure in the evening, when feet are slightly larger.

If you are between two sizes
Choose the larger size. Sandals with adjustable straps can be tightened for a snug fit, but a pair that is too short cannot be fixed.
Fit tips by style
- Open-toe and cross-strap sandals: your toes should sit fully on the footbed with a little space in front, and your heel should not hang over the back.
- Thong (toe-post) sandals: the post should sit comfortably between your toes without pressing on the skin.
- Mules and fisherman sandals: check that the front covers your foot without pinching across the widest part.
- Formal shoes: try them with the socks you will wear. There should be about a thumb's width between your longest toe and the front.
- Chelsea boots: they should feel snug around the ankle without pinching, with room to move your toes.
